To quit smoking, you've got to have a plan

I'm not going to pull any punches with you. Giving up smoking is hard. It requires a lot of determination. But it can be done.

Everybody knows that smoking is bad for your health. Several years ago, before I was a hypnotherapist, I lost somebody I know because of lung cancer. The whole experience made me even more determined to help people quit.

So how is it done? With addictions I always recommend making a plan. That's because the urge to carry on is so strong. So you need to put enough measures in place, enough safety nets, to see you through the difficult times until you can finally be rid of the habit. Here are steps you can take:

  1. Set a quit date.
  2. Tell people around you the date you're planning to quit.
  3. Remove all cigarettes from your house, car an environment.
  4. Don't be afraid to talk to a doctor for advice.
  5. Go to online support groups to find somebody who's going through the same experience.
  6. Listen to the hypnosis download regularly because this will keep building new habits until they sink deeply into your subconscious.

How Hypnosis Works To Help You Quit Smoking

The urge to stop smoking has to come from inside. There has to be real motivation. You can't do it for somebody else. Even if a spouse says she doesn't like the smell or complains you're turning them into a passive smoker. You may be worried by that but it's still up to you to dig deep and want to stop. If you do want to quit, hypnosis will give you the mental tools to help.
